Introduction to Intermediate Strings:

•  The class will meet from 8:45-10:15 AM.
  
•  This level is for students who have completed one year of string instruction in elementary school or an equivalent program.
  
•  Students should be able to read and perform the notes of a D Major scale.
  
•  Students should be able to perform quarter notes, half notes, and eighth notes.
  

Introduction to Middle School Orchestra:

•  The class will meet from 10:30 AM-12 PM.
  
•  This level is for students who have completed two years of string instruction in elementary school or an equivalent program.
  
•  Students should be able to read and perform the notes of a D Major and G Major   scale.
  
•  Students should be familiar with F-natural on the D string and C-natural on the A string.
  

 Advanced Middle School including All-County Summer Prep:

•  The class will meet from 12:30-2 PM.
  
•  This class will focus on giving middle school students “a start” toward preparing for the All-County middle school orchestra auditions. 
  
•  Material taught will include: scale performance for auditions, sight reading tips, advanced fingerings, shifting, vibrato, and audition skills. 
  
•  Instruction will be given on how to practice the required excerpts and each student will receive a recording of the excerpts to take home with them at the end of the week. 
• This class is recommended for students completing the 7th grade, but highly advanced 6th graders will be accepted upon recommendation from the student’s music teacher. Recommendations may be emailed to Dr. Silliman at drcello@cfl.rr.com
